A meaningful connection
When was the last time you called up someone and gave them a meaningful wish for their birthday?
It’s a cruel irony of modern life that we’re surrounded by people yet more isolated than ever.
By Jake Knapp and John Zeratsky in their book Make Time
We often live a life built for social media rather than reality.
From what we eat to where we go, it’s got to go on our internet dairy.
I’m not saying it’s wrong, you could post whatever you want. But we always equate it to the number of likes or views it gets. We live and play this fictional character who isn’t us.
That’s where the problem is, always living a life comparing ourselves with others. When was the last time you called up someone and gave them a meaningful wish for their birthday, no right?
After I quit social media, I had a friend of mine send me over 50 Instagram stories of people wishing me ‘Happy Birthday’ and I realised not even one of them gave me a call. It’s because we feel it’s more important to upload it on our Instagram story.
I just wanted to reserve today’s edition to humanity so that we build real connection.

A meaningful connection
What a beautiful thought this is ! 🥳
Much needed for today’s humans, we are interested in wishing in WhatsApp group over a simple call 🥲
Experienced the same 😅
I got 200+ wishes on my 18th birthday & 1 wish on 19th birthday
