Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.
By Kiyosaki in his book Rich Dad Poor dad
We all want to be successful in life, don’t we? But most of us aren’t prepared to bear the risk that comes with it.
Let’s look at a scenario to understand this better:
Imagine Michael, a middle class guy bored of his 9-5 job.
He starts reading up on stocks, investments and the trading market which eventually intrigue him a lot.
So he starts investing in stocks, little by little. Sometimes he earns money, sometimes he loses money- but he doesn’t give up on it.
Now at this point, it would probably be a dumb idea for michael to quit his job in hopes of earning a livelihood through the stock market. (Great idea for a movie though, it has potential)
Michael keeps at it and the day he feels he has gained enough experience and learnt how investing works, he quits his job and devotes himself to the process.
Michael becomes a successful investment banker 5 years down the line, do you think he cares about the money he lost initially, while he drives his porsche? I don’t think so.
If he had been scared of taking the risk that came with quitting his job, he never would have reached where he is today.
At the end of the day, it’s all about taking calculated risks and facing failure head on!
