The One Device
The whole world changed. If it wasn't for it, you wouldn't be reading this right now.
The iPhone isn't just a tool; it's the foundational instrument of modern life.
By Brian Merchant in his book The One Device
Every once in a while, a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything, and the iPhone did exactly as Steve Jobs said on stage.
I really wish I were old and had the internet back then to watch this amazing moment live. But reading about the day and listening to people who were there, it just feels like God magically reinvented the phone in front of their eyes.
It’s a significant accomplishment for mankind as it's still considered the third greatest invention of all time, after fire and the wheel.
The whole world changed after the iPhone. If it wasn't for it, you wouldn't be reading this right now.
Even though the book shows a different side of the biggest company that the world has ever seen, I’m a huge fan of Apple and Steve Jobs and everything that he stood for.
The device in your hand can take pictures, make video calls, write emails, make written and audio notes, measure your heart rate, and God knows what else it's capable of.
The point is we would be living entirely different lives if it wasn't for the iPhone, and we have to take a moment to appreciate the greatness that lies within the palm of our hands.
