"People don't buy what you do; they buy why you do it. And what you do simply proves what you believe"
By Simon Sinek in his book Start With Why
You know how when you're trying to decide between two similar products, you often end up picking the one from that company you really like?
It's not just about what the product does; it's about why the company makes it in the first place.
Let's break it down.
Say you're choosing between two coffee shops.
One just sells coffee, but the other one is all about supporting fair trade and sustainable farming.
Even if their coffee tastes the same, you might go for the second one because you like what they stand for.
Or when you're picking a movie to watch.
You might choose one because it's made by a director whose work you admire, not just because of the actors or the story. That's the 'why' behind the movie that draws you in.
What a company does—whether it's selling coffee or making movies—shows what they really believe in.
So, if a company cares about the environment, you'll see them using eco-friendly materials and maybe donating to conservation causes.
Basically, it's all about connecting with the deeper reasons behind what a company does.
When you understand why they're doing it, it's easier to get behind them and support their products or services.
If you’re someone trying to build something from scratch, answer WHY before HOW.
