“Positioning your product against the slew of existing competitors is accomplished by adroitly picking the correct product features where you are better.”
By Steven Gary Blank in his book The Four Steps to the Epiphany
You are a startup, and your “product” entails the services you offer.
Just like in a company, the product development stage involves answering some crucial questions, these same questions have to be answered while developing your own brand as well.
-How well do we understand what problems customers have?
-How much will they pay to solve those problems?
-Do our product features solve these problems?
-How is our product better than the pre-existing ones?
If you are someone selling any kind of service or simply looking to build a community, the best thing you can do for yourself is:
Build a story.
Who are you? Why are you building xyz? Why should people be listening to you?
And most importantly
How are you better? What do YOU offer that makes you stand out from the crowd?
Doesn’t matter if you sell mainstream services or talk about regular stuff.
What matters is what you bring to the spotlight & how you weave the narrative.
That’s the best thing about thinking of yourself as a startup.
You are the CEO, team manager and employee all in one! xD
This is very useful ☺️
